突然对这个东东感兴趣是因为研究Ushba的钛合金hanger

那个东东非常的耐腐蚀,在海边的岩壁(例如泰国)似乎只有这种东东可以用的久一点(钛合金胶粘hanger),不锈钢的hanger也在几年之内就完蛋了。

I agree that Titanium alloy is a good material.  But I need to learn more to comment on using Ti alloy in climbing applications.

The FAQs are full of bull shit.  It is a typical example that the manufacturer uses  big words to convince gereral public.  This kind of practice is very harmful.  It is misleading the public with wrong informaiton.  I will stop them once I gather enough evidence.

cite from USHBA:"2) Is it true that titanium becomes brittle when cold? No. In fact, unlike steel and aluminum, the bond of the molecular structure of titanium actually becomes stronger as the temperature drops. This is a common misconception about Ti climbing equipment--- it is not inherently brittle. "

This is full of crap.
1. Every material gets brittle when the temperature goes down.  Aluminum, titanium, nylon all more or less become more brittle as compare to higher temperature. "The bonding becomes stronger when it is cold" is a scientifically very vague claim.  It is misleading to say the least.


2. "Molecular sturcture of Ti alloy"?
This kind of material does NOT have molecular structure, because the material is NOT molecular.  It is like talking about a fish has bad hair.  You know, fish just doesn't have any hair.
