Alex Chabot of France concluded one of the best weeks of sport climbing ever by climbing three solid 5.14s in one day. According to Escalade-alsace.ifrance.com, on September 6, Chabot first climbed Last Soul Sacrifice (5.14b) at Les Gorges du Loup in southern France, and then redpointed Kinématix (5.14d/9a) and, for a warm-down, redpointed Asa? (5.14b). The first route follows part of a link-up that Chabot redpointed about a week ago for his first 5.14c. Chabot, who has dominated men’s World Cup competition for the past few years, is now making extraordinary progress outside. In the past week, in addition to his first 5.14c and 5.14d, he onsighted a 5.13d and climbed a 5.14b on his first try after dogging up the route once four years earlier. Could this be the month the world gets its first 5.14b onsight?

Chabot (sort of) flashes 5.14b

French superstar Alexandre Chabot, the reigning World Cup sport climbing champion, has managed what could be called an "amnesia onsight" of a 5.14b (8c). Chabot did the climb Cadre at Ceüse, France, a route considered solid for the grade, four years after dogging up the climb once, when he had never climbed a route harder than 5.13c. Given how little he learned from the 1999 ascent, Chabot considers his recent ascent a flash. Even if it's not a true flash, this may be the speediest ascent of a confirmed 5.14b. (Yuji Hirayama onsighted Mortal Kombat a French climb originally graded 5.14b, but this climb was subsequently downgraded and has seen a second onsight.) Chabot, who has long focused on indoor competition climbing, also climbed his first 5.14c (8c+), a link-up called Ultimate Sacrifice at Gorges du Loup, France. 我知道正确的读音，嘿嘿，上次在深圳比赛是知道的，听他们互相叫的时候。不过，“豺豹”还是比“沙包”威猛些
